Two nabbed for driveway robbery and attempted hijacking in Bergbron

Upon investigation, it was ascertained that the firearm the robbers/ would-be hijackers used was a toy gun. The victim’s belongings were recovered and the local police were called to the scene.

On Wednesday, June 8 two suspects were arrested in Bergbron after an armed driveway robbery and attempted hijacking.

Reports indicate that a Beagle Watch Armed Response officer on patrol in Bergbron came across a driveway robbery and attempted hijacking on Andes Road.

The thugs had already fled the scene when the armed response officer, together with an officer from SCP Security gave chase and managed to corner two of the suspects on Zandra Avenue.

The teamwork by the two private security companies resulted in the arrest of two of the suspects but unfortunately the other two suspects fled in a brown Ford EcoSport.

The Florida Police station commander, Colonel Amos Tsotetsi confirmed the arrest of the two men and that a case was opened at their station.
