The Bell of Hope serves as a symbol of hope to dispel misunderstandings and discrimination, and the stigma associated with mental illness. The event is held in the Cradle of Humankind annually and offers a 15km and a 50km route. They had a great event this year with close to 400 eager cyclists participated in the fun day. Great sponsors have become synonymous with the charity ride, and there were amazing prize giveaways.

The money raised will be used to sustain Ebenezer Psychiatric Home, a non-profit organisation that cares for adults with bipolar disorder or schizophrenia. The home relies on monthly government subsidies, and assistance from the public and corporate sectors.

“We are very proud of our residents who are involved in organising the event every year, and securing sponsorships and donations. We are of course very grateful to our cyclists, many of whom have participated from the very start of this charity event.

“We will be hosting our tenth Bell of Hope Charity Ride next year and will love to have you join us for a fun day and to support a worthy and good cause,” concluded event organiser, Kerry von Buddenbrock.
