Roodebeeck Primary U/13 soccer team second to none
After all the action-packed games between the top eight, top four and then the finals, Roodebeeck Primary was the team to beat as they marched on in their search for silverware.
Roodebeeck Primary’s U/13 soccer team recently participated in the John Thenesis (JT) Tournament and outplayed a number of schools before being crowned the 2022 champions.
The team proved to have nerves of steel after going down by a single goal to Constantia Kloof Primary but kept their heads up and followed up with two wins against Trinityhouse Little Falls and Charterhouse.
Good team spirit and a winning attitude saw the team proceed to the quarter-finals and semi-finals where they beat Constantia Kloof Primary on penalties.

After a hard-fought final match against tough opponents Panorama Primary School, the Witpoortjie outfit were declared champions of the 2022 tournament after the game was decided by a single goal.
The boys went on to participate in the District championships as winners of the Roodepoort area, where the results were as follows:
• Roodebeeck Primary 3–1 Braamfischer
• Roodebeeck Primary 1–0 Orlando West
• Roodebeeck Primary 0–2 Snake Park
Coach Ntokozo Mashinini told the Record that it was very exciting for him working with the youngsters and seeing them achieve in the sport.

“I just have a way to get to them and make the boys fall in love with the sport. Coaching the boys isn’t just about football but I coach them about life and that they should have respect for each other and others at all times.
“The team is currently playing in the District Championship and we are doing well. We are hoping to push till the end, and we will be doing our best at training. I’ll do my job as the coach so that leaders are created,” said Ntokozo.
