At this year’s Gauteng Provincial Championships held on August 26 and 27, the Florida Primary School learner not only improved but together with her team qualified for the National competition.

The Grade 6 learner and her teammates Shanika Mapping and Vertelle Jacobs competed with determination and passion with their eyes set on competing internationally.

Hannah belongs to Lefido Acrobatic Gymnastics Club based in Newlands and her coach is Claudia Coreejes.

She has been with the club since she was six years of age and continues to improve under the watchful eyes of her coaches.

Acrobatic gymnastics is done with partners where they display different types of elements in their routine. They are judged on the difficulty, execution and artistic aspects.

Together with her partners she participates in club competitions, which goes to district, provincial and the national gymnastics competition.

They recently took part at the Gauteng Provincial Championship, and qualified for the National Competition.
