SANBS praises and honours donors
SANBS thanks their stakeholders during a function and encourages organisations to host blood drives.
Blood donations are extremely important in the medical field and the South African National Blood Service (SANBS) expressed its gratitude by officially thanking its stakeholders during an SANBS Site Contact Function at Silverstar’s Barnyard.

Donor relations practitioner Lebo Seatlholo said the goal of the day was to honour stakeholders they deal with directly.
“There are different organisations in communities who go out of their way to help the SANBS promote blood donation. This was the first function we hosted since 2019. It’s such a significant event as it serves as an information-sharing platform as well as an engagement strategy for SANBS,” Lebo explained.

“We honoured best performing [most blood collected during 2024] organisations, businesses, community blood drives, schools and malls, including the most engaged and committed stakeholder with rewards given to these categories,” she added.

She said they wanted to treat their stakeholders to breakfast, and after the awards, a music performance followed.
“We would like to urge other organisations, schools, communities and churches that aren’t hosting blood drives yet to please get hold of us on 0800 119 031, to initiate blood drives,” she concluded.
