ER24 brings colour and joy to Child Welfare facility

The dedicated team painted three rooms and the reception area to give back to the community.

The ER24 Johannesburg West team, supported by enthusiastic emergency medical care students from the University of Johannesburg, rolled up their sleeves on Tuesday, June 17, to bring warmth and colour to the Child Welfare Roodepoort facility.

As part of their Corporate Social Investment efforts, the medics volunteered their time to repaint three rooms and the reception area within the welfare facility, transforming it into a softer, more welcoming space for vulnerable children.

The initiative was driven by a shared belief that healing begins not just with treatment but also with care, dignity, and community support. With fresh coats of light blue and yellow, the rooms were transformed into peaceful, child-friendly environments that exude warmth and comfort.

Tanya Visser community medic at ER24 and organiser of the event said,

“Being able to give back in this way, not just as ER24 but as members of this community, means the world to us.”

Child Welfare Roodepoort is a non-profit organisation that provides essential support and protection services for children and their families. Their mission is to create a safe and nurturing environment that protects and promotes the well-being and rights of the children and their families in the communities they serve.
