The Westgate Family Run is returning to Westgate Shopping Centre on Sunday, February 8, this time bigger and better.
This year’s event introduces a 21km (half-marathon) distance, joining the established 10km and 5km fun run, making it a must-attend for runners and families alike.

Westgate is the main sponsor of the event, and the race is sanctioned by Central Gauteng Athletics together with Roodepoort Athletics Club.

The event has something to offer for everyone, whether you are a seasoned runner, a beginner, a junior, or just looking to take a break from your busy schedule.

Westgate’s marketing manager Thabo Khumalo promises a safe and well-supported environment with security, visible marshals, traffic officials, hydration tables, and medical support along all routes.

“The course has been planned in line with Central Gauteng Athletics requirements, which gives runners added peace of mind.

“Beyond the race itself, participants and their families can look forward to a festive atmosphere at Westgate Shopping Centre where there will be entertainment, activities and shopping opportunities for the rest of the morning,” he said.
