Entries for Westgate Family Run are open

Join Westgate Shopping Centre for a day of fitness and fun.

The Westgate Family Run is returning to Westgate Shopping Centre on Sunday, February 8, this time bigger and better.

This year’s event introduces a 21km (half-marathon) distance, joining the established 10km and 5km fun run, making it a must-attend for runners and families alike.

Westgate is the main sponsor of the event, and the race is sanctioned by Central Gauteng Athletics together with Roodepoort Athletics Club.

The event has something to offer for everyone, whether you are a seasoned runner, a beginner, a junior, or just looking to take a break from your busy schedule.

Westgate’s marketing manager Thabo Khumalo promises a safe and well-supported environment with security, visible marshals, traffic officials, hydration tables, and medical support along all routes.

“Beyond the race itself, participants and their families can look forward to a festive atmosphere at Westgate Shopping Centre where there will be entertainment, activities and shopping opportunities for the rest of the morning,” he said.

Entry Fees (excluding online transaction fees):

• 21km – R220
• 10km – R160
• 5km – R90

Temp licences:

• 21 km – R70
• 10km – R60

Grandmasters have discounted rates across categories.

Participants can register online through the Westgate Shopping Centre website, www.westgate.co.za or Peak Timing platform, with pre-entries closing on Sunday, February 1.

Medals await all finishers, and a total prize purse of R30 800 is up for grabs in the 21km and 10km categories.

Race number collection runs from Friday, February 6, to Sunday, February 8, at Westgate Entrance 2.
