Touch One Soul Foundation launches double bunk and mattress drive and needs your help.

Touch One Soul is a foundation assisting individuals battling with substance abuse and they are calling on the community for assistance.

The Touch One Soul Foundation has been assisting individuals battling substance abuse, gender-based violence, and domestic violence since 2022.

In line with their mission, they’ve launched a Double Bunk and Mattress Drive to prepare a recovery home where lives can be built and hope restored.

Established by Sylvester Sauls, the foundation currently houses over 120 individuals and continues to grow in capacity, impact, and reach, responding to the increasing need for healing, restoration, and hope within the greater community.

During an interview with the Roodepoort Record, co-founder of the foundation, Ronel Sauls, said they have been given an opportunity to convert a hotel property into a recovery home, which will help them touch more lives.

To make this vision a reality, the Foundation is calling on the community, businesses, churches, and partners to assist with the donation of double-bunk beds and mattresses.

“South Africa continues to face growing challenges related to addiction, homelessness, and trauma. This drive enables the Foundation to create a structured, faith-based environment where individuals can heal holistically – body, mind, and spirit.

“We started as a support group, and after seeing the need in the community, we started building the recovery homes. We believe that if we can touch one soul, we can touch the family, the community, and eventually reach the greater community.

“What is different about this one is that we will be housing and reaching out to the families as well because we understand that substance abuse affects not only an individual but the whole family,” said Ronel.

“Each bunk bed represents more than a place to sleep; it represents safety, stability, and a second chance for someone rebuilding their life.”

Sylvester added that their vision is to create a recovery home where every person is treated with dignity.
“A bed is not just furniture; it is the foundation of rest, recovery, and renewal,” he said.

Items needed:

• double-bunk beds (new or gently used)
• mattresses (clean and in good condition)
• bedding (pillows, blankets, linen)
• monetary donations (towards beds, mattresses, and facility preparation)
