Four suspects nabbed for drugs
The arrested suspects are currently awaiting their court appearances.
Four suspects aged between 23 and 35 were arrested in separate incidents for possession of drugs during patrols conducted by the Johannesburg Flying Squad this week.
According to an incident report issued by police media liaison officer Raymond Sambo, the first arrest took place on Tuesday, January 27, at around 17:00 in the Honeydew policing precinct. Flying Squad members stopped and searched a white Kia Picanto with one occupant at the corner of Piet Retief Street. During the search, police recovered a packet containing a white powder suspected to be CAT, with an estimated street value of R10 000.

The suspect was arrested and detained at Honeydew Police Station for further investigation.
A second incident occurred on Wednesday, January 28, at about 15:45 while officers were patrolling along the Golden Highway in the direction of Eldorado Park. According to Sambo, members stopped a white Hyundai Accent with two occupants and, during a search of the vehicle, found a packet suspected to contain crystal meth with a street value of R15 000. Both suspects were arrested and detained at Mondeor Police Station.
Later that evening, at around 22:30, Flying Squad members were patrolling the Florida policing precinct when they stopped a silver Toyota Etios at the corner of Hull Street and 1st Avenue. According to police, a search of the vehicle led to the recovery of Mandrax tablets with an estimated street value of R150. The suspect was arrested and detained at Florida Police Station.
All four suspects are expected to appear in different magistrates courts soon. The police have requested anyone with information related to these incidents to contact their nearest police station or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
