A 35-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly being in possession of drugs and attempting to bribe police officers who were on patrol in Weltevreden Park on Sunday, August 16.

According to Gauteng Police Emergency Services spokesperson Raymond Sambo, members of the Johannesburg Flying Squad were patrolling near the corner of 6th and 5th Avenue at about noon when they attempted to stop the driver of a Hyundai.

The driver allegedly failed to stop and drove into a nearby complex, but police followed and stopped the vehicle.
