Residents warned of possible protest in Radiokop

The reason for the planned action is unclear, but authorities say they are prepared to manage the situation.

The Honeydew Community Policing Forum (CPF) has issued a warning after a message circulated on social media about a possible protest expected tomorrow, February 6, at the corner of Christiaan de Wet and Erasmus roads, opposite Papachinos in Radiokop.

Honeydew CPF public relations officer Michael Steyn confirmed that the forum is aware of the post.

“We have been in contact with the police, and all necessary arrangements have been made should the protest action take place,” he said.

At this stage, there is no confirmation that the protest will proceed. Steyn added that residents will be kept informed should the situation change.

The Roodepoort Northsider will share further details as the situation develops.
