Murder for hire: Accused denied bail
Suspects in the murder-for-hire case of Lerato Tefu have been denied bail.
A petition to deny the accused charged with the murder of Lerato Tefo bail is fast gaining traction.
Tefo was gunned down behind the wheel of her car in morning traffic near the Corlett Avenue and Ontdekkers Road intersection on December 8.
Three suspects were soon identified and arrested, and their bail was denied.

The community of Roodepoort came out in numbers to protest outside the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court on April 21, when the suspects made an appearance.
A fourth suspect, a woman believed to be the mastermind of the alleged murder-for-hire plot to kill Tefo, has since been arrested and charged.

A last suspect, the person alleged to have supplied the firearm and fired the fatal shots, is still at large.
During their joint court appearance, the order for the three men to be denied bail was upheld, and bail was denied for the fourth accused, who filed an appeal.
The woman will remain in custody until her next court appearance, which is scheduled for Wednesday, April 29.
