Police in Roodepoort arrested a 33-year-old Tshepisong man on April 20 for dealing in drugs.
According to the district communications co-ordinator, Lieutenant-Colonel Mpho Tshetlane, police officers received information about a person believed to be a drug dealer in the area.
“The officers followed up on the information received and managed to locate the suspect,” she says.
“They proceeded to search the premises and discovered one live AK47 round, two live 9mm pistol rounds, and 14 different cellphones.
“The search also revealed 42 small zip-lock bags of crystal meth.”

Tshetlane adds that the suspect was taken into police custody and charged with the illegal possession of ammunition, drugs, and suspected stolen property.
A charge of dealing in drugs was also added.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court soon.
