Where to find alternative water points during planned Rand Water shutdown

Several suburbs in Roodepoort will be affected by Rand Water’s planned maintenance on the Eikenhof system, with Johannesburg Water providing alternative water points for residents.

Rand Water will be conducting maintenance on the Eikenhof system from tomorrow, January 6, until January 8.

The 52-hour shutdown will affect multiple suburbs in Roodepoort, leaving some residents with low water pressure or no supply at all.

According to a statement issued by Johannesburg Water, alternative water points will be available in the following wards during the shutdown period:

• Ward 70: Total service station, corner Hendrik Potgieter and Gordon roads
• Ward 70: Ons Huis Old Age Home, 110 Madeline Street, Florida
• Ward 70: Future Nation School, Fleurhof Lifestyle Flats
• Ward 71: Davidsonville Clinic, Minnaar Street
• Ward 71: Princess Clinic, Harry Road
Ward 71: Discovery Old Age Home, Robinson Avenue
• Ward 71: Witpoortjie Pick n Pay, Payne Street
• Ward 84: Roodepoort Civic Centre, Christiaan de Wet Road
• Ward 84: City Hall, corner Berlandina and Dieperink streets
• Ward 84: Roodepoort Police Station
• Ward 127: Open space on Nick Toomey Road (roaming water tanker)

Residents are encouraged to use water sparingly during the shutdown and to bring their own containers when collecting water from the tankers.
