Weltevreden Park NPO Helping the youth plan ahead for a prosperous tomorrow

STINT is community humanitarian group aimed at supporting those in need.

Setting a steady course early in life ensures reaching the promised land sooner rather than later.

Founded out of post-pandemic necessity, Supporting Those In Need Together (STINT) is an non-profit company bringing relief on multiple fronts. The brainchild of Adeline Singh and Tony da Silva, STINT have grown exponentially and through a strong sense of community and a wealth of industry knowledge, the pair have established an entity that touches the lives of hundreds of beneficiaries monthly.

Wanting to promote a sense of planning and foresight, STINT hosted a Career Day at the Weltevreden Methodist Church on October 8. The Career Day aimed to give learners between Grade 8 and matric an opportunity to speak with professionals from multiple industries to learn about the pathways that need to be taken when transitioning from school to working world.

The Career Day was not only targeted at high school children but roped in their parents too. Adeline noted how parents play a big role in facilitating the hopes and ambitions and through her role in the education sector, has seen what a determining factor parental support is. Adeline added that the foundations for professional success and prosperity in later life were laid at an early age and that valuable career guidance was more important as ever.

When not guiding the youth, STINT focusses on delivering food parcels, assisting in humanitarian relief projects and looking after their adopted school in Muldersdrift. The Career Day is becoming an annual event and with every mind engaged, it is likely to create a wider node in the STINT network.
