Local kickboxers impress at RCFA Development Tournament

According to Sensei Adri van Wyk, RCFA is a developing sport and most of the RCFA Dingoes fighters fought for the first time.

Young kickboxers from Ring Contact Fighting Art (RCFA) Dingoes based in Witpoortjie took part in the RCFA Development tournament held in Brits on Saturday, October 15.

According to the organisers the tournament hosted by RCFA Brits Katanas was a development tournament for white -green belts.

RCFA Dingoes students were among the 72 determined fighters who took part in the tournament.

Their different fighting styles were Ring Contact Fighting Art (RCFA), South African Kickboxing Association (SAKA), Martial Arts South Africa (MASA).

In semi contact fighting as well as baton fighting, Arno van Wyk won a gold medal and a silver in baton while Melanie van Wyk secured two silver medals.

Danette Horak was also impressive at the tournament and won a gold medal in semi contact and a silver medal in baton.

According to Sensei Adri van Wyk, RCFA is a developing sport and most of the RCFA Dingoes fighters fought for the first time.

Sensei Adri said that her students prepared for the tournament by leveling up on fitness and focused on a lot of fighting skills training.

“Keep working hard push your limits and never doubt your abilities, for those that want to take up kickboxing as a sport, we prepare our students for the truth out there and enable them to protect themselves and their families,” said Sensei Adri.

RCFA Dingoes will be hosting their annual club grading event that will be held at the end of October.
