“We wanted to empower the residents by having them promote and sell their handmade goods. There were 15 stalls and a jumping castle for the children,” Village Manager Dawie Lee said.
Market-goers had the opportunity to meet and mingle with Afrikaans actor, writer and director, Willie Esterhuizen. They also jumped at the chance to have their picture taken with the well-known personality.
With the weather playing its part perfectly, guests were able to enjoy some good music while browsing through the stalls and satiating their hunger with some of the delicious foods that were available on the day.

Santa Claus also made sure to stop by to take some pictures with the little ones who wished to meet him.
“The event and stalls were well supported by the community. There was also great interest in the village. We would like to thank each and every person who took the time out of their day to support us,” Lee concluded.
“We hope to host such a market day four times a year and to see more and more of the community coming to support us.”
