Spark Weltevreden Park adds several new faces to lead their learners

Spark Weltevreden Park welcomed several new teachers to their faculty for 2023. The new staff complement have hit the ground running and are already marking their mark on the young minds they are entrusted with.

β€œIt takes grit, persistence, determination and dedication,” said Principal Liezel Wathen, citing the fundamental characteristics needed by Spark teachers.

In the junior grades, Leandri Mong will head the Grade 3 Maths class, Shazia Jordan will be teaching Grade 4 Literature while Mosibudi Makhafula will be stationed as a facilitator with a Grade 4 Blended Learning class.

β€œI am motivated by the teachers I had when I was in high school and I would like to follow in their footsteps,” said Mosibudi.

Blended learning is hybrid teaching style that allows learners to access parts of their work digitally while being guided by the educators. Ingrid Mziwake heads a Grade 5 Blended Learning class, having arrived from the police were she compiled crime stats after studying Criminology.

Grade 7 teachers round out the newbies with Ntshadi Mlangeni teaching Maths and both Keabetswe Manthatha and Mpumi Malatji teaching Technology and Natural Sciences.
