Fred and Martie’s Soup Kitchen’s call for Spring Day donations

As spring approaches, decluttering is inevitable, don't forget to donate any unnecessary items to those less fortunate.

Fred and Martie’s Soup Kitchen has launched a Spring Day project to encourage community donations of pre-loved items to less fortunate children and the elderly.

The soup kitchen, which has been operating for over 50 years, aims to provide a safe, clean, and uplifting environment for those in need – offering hope for a better future, and relies on the community’s love and kindness to operate.

The soup kitchen provides nutritious meals to the poor, hungry, and lonely, preparing 2 560 meals for the community. They also offer programmes like elderly care, community upliftment, and education on road safety.

To address the current economic climate and meeting the needs of its people, the project aims to collect all items which are not needed anymore.

“One hundred percent of your spring clean donations will be reaching those in need and your smallest donation occupies the biggest part of our hearts,” Oberholzer cited.

All donations can be dropped off at the soup kitchen in Florida or can be collected through prior arrangements.
