Foundation serves soup and sandwich on a cold day
Nabcare's White Lilly Foundation honours a legacy of generosity by serving those in need.
Small acts of kindness went a long way on Wednesday, August 12, when Nabcare’s White Lilly Foundation brought some much-needed warmth to Maraisburg residents by serving soup and sandwiches on a cold winter’s day.
The foundation’s volunteers gathered at the Maraisburg Recreation Centre to cook the soup and prepare the cheese sandwiches for about 100 residents.

According to one of the founding members, Nabelaah Lodewyk, the soup and sandwiches served during the initiative are just the beginning of their plans for an upcoming soup kitchen. The initiative will see the foundation providing sandwiches and other food items to members of the community in need.
Nabelaah said the foundation was established in 2024 in memory of her mother-in-law, Sharifa Lodewyk, whom she described as a caring and generous person who always had a heart for others.

“It’s all driven by passion. We love the elderly and the community at large. The turnout we received encourages us to do more in the community and make a bigger change because the need is great,” said Nabelaah.
She added that the positive response from the community has motivated the foundation to expand its efforts and continue making a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need.
