Suspect arrested and stolen goods retrieved in Helderkruin
Beagle Watch apprehends a suspected thief alleged to have been involved with other recent incidents in the area.
Beagle Watch Armed Response arrested a suspect believed to have been involved in theft and other incidents in the area.
Andre Aiton, managing director for Beagle Watch, explained that on the morning of September 21, they received a call from a client informing them of a burglary at their premises. By the time they got there, the suspect already fled with various items, one of which was a laptop. He continued the team gave chase and found the suspect as he was attempting to flee into the greenbelt area. Even though he tried to fight them they were able to apprehend the suspected thief as well as the stolen goods.

Cobus Botes, Beagle Watch’s area manager said, “This suspect can be linked to various other crimes in the area. He is also aggressive and has twice tried to attack our officers with a weapon. The previous time he managed to get away, but today his luck ran out.”

The suspect is also believed to have been involved with other incidents in the area, which are being investigated by the security company.

The police were contacted for comment, but by the time of publishing, none had been received.
“We will work together with the police to ensure this suspect and his possible accomplices are brought to book,” concluded Botes.
