Armed robbery in Amarosa leaves two critically injured

Two residents critically injured after armed robbery in Amarosa complex.

Three suspects broke into a residential complex in Amarosa, where they allegedly shot and injured two victims in the early morning of October 3.

Elmien Parker from Absolut Security explained that they received a message for help at around 3:28 on one of their community group stating that shots were fired.

“Control dispatched our response team and phoned ER24 for medical assistance,” she said.

Parker added that it was then determined that both a husband and wife were shot, Honeydew police were informed and on the scene within a few minutes.

Residents in the complex believe the perpetrators scaled the walls of the neighbouring complex and cut the palisades to crawl underneath, although this is just speculation at this stage. The husband was allegedly shot in the leg and his wife in her lower back, they were stabilised on the scene and evacuated to a nearby medical facility.

Unfortunately, the perpetrators got away before they could be arrested.

Comment was requested from the police, unfortunately, when the story was published no response was received.

This is an ongoing investigation and as soon as more information becomes available, an update will be issued.
