School gives back to the community

Florida Islamic school collected over 80 packs of winter essentials and food parcels for those who need it the most.

Florida Islamic School once again hosted their annual Winter Warm Drive on June 5, bringing comfort and warmth to those in need.

The event was led by prefects of the school, and this year’s drive saw a remarkable increase in both participation and donations, with learners collecting and distributing over 80 winter packs.

Each pack contained blankets, jackets, scarves, gloves, and essential food items — all aimed at helping those most affected by the winter chill.

The learners, staff, and volunteers worked together to sort, pack, and hand over the items to local beneficiaries, shelters, and families in need. The event also included a food parcel distribution, bringing comfort and dignity to all who attended.

Principal Ibrahim Bismillah commended the learners, saying, “We are proud of our learners, especially the prefect body, who led this initiative with much dedication.

“The Winter Warm event is more than a school project – it’s a powerful lesson in empathy, responsibility, and the spirit of giving.”

He adds that the school is committed to being a pillar of support and hope in the community.
