Road to recovery for attacked and injured dog begins

A dog's life was at stake after a brutal attack. However, the outlook is improving with the support of Community Led Animal Welfare.

In a heartbreaking incident, a devoted dog named Bobby was left severely injured after being attacked by other dogs, suffering wounds to his front legs and neck.

Owner Elijah Ndlovu rushed him to Community Led Animal Welfare (Claw) on August 11, where caretakers immediately began treating his injuries. Bobby had travelled on the back of Elijah’s bicycle for the long journey to the organisation.

Claw founder Cora Bailey said the dog’s neck and front legs had deep cuts and puncture wounds that would require extensive care.

“We are going to work with Elijah to ensure Bobby recovers, and we will also make sure the dog receives regular check-ups,” she said.

She added that motivation is vital in animal welfare.

“Getting the right information from owners helps us ensure the well-being of their animals. I stay motivated by people like Elijah, who seek help and allow us to provide it.”

Cora also encouraged the community to support Claw’s work.

“We appreciate donations such as dog food, cleaning materials and medications,” she said.
