Dazzling Kidz Foundation spreads joy and empowerment to children in need
Foundation launched with heartwarming community celebration.
Women’s Day, August 9 marked a momentous occasion for Dazzling Kidz – a performing arts and extramural activity school based in the West Rand – as they launched the Dazzling Kidz Foundation, an initiative dedicated to giving back to the community and creating brighter futures for children.
The foundation visited Roodepoort Child Welfare and about 250 children in the foster care system, including both foster children and orphans, came together for a day of joy and celebration.
Each child received a generous package that included food, a toy, a cupcake, a party pack, and a clothing bundle, thanks to donations from the community.

Dazzling Kidz was founded by Thobeka Dlongolo in December 2023, and it aims to bridge the gap in arts education and empower children through music, dance, and drama.
“I believe that performing arts is essential to the growth and development of every child, and every child should have access to the performing arts, regardless of their background or current circumstances. Not only did I want to give back through the performing arts, but I feel it’s everyone’s calling to help those in need in our society,” said Thobeka.

One of the day’s most exciting moments was a surprise visit from Marvel’s beloved Iron Man, sponsored by The Blueberry Beacon restaurant in Honeydew. Another standout highlight came from the talented children of Child Welfare, who were inspired to take to the stage and showcase their performing arts skills.

The event was brimming with fun for all ages, with face painting, jumping castles, and more. The atmosphere was made even more special by the dedicated volunteers from Child Welfare, whose partnership helped make the day both inspiring and unforgettable.

Through its weekly workshops, school partnerships, community performances, facilitator training, and annual productions, the Dazzling Kidz Foundation is committed to developing talent, fostering emotional and social growth, and ensuring that quality arts programmes are accessible to all children.
