Wilro Lions bless new moms with baby clothes

Baby Bags bring hope and happiness to families in need.

The Wilro Lions Club has once again demonstrated its commitment to the community by donating baby bags to new mothers and their newborns at Helderkruin Clinic.

The bags were filled with essential items, including clothing, toiletries, and other necessities for newborns.

Registered Nurse Gugu Mhlongo, who works with children at the clinic, warmly welcomed the initiative, noting the positive impact it will have on the families they serve.

“We are extremely grateful to the Wilro Lions for this kind gesture towards our moms and newborns,” she said. “It will make a significant difference and give them hope, especially during challenging times as a mother.”

Project co-ordinator Mandy Jamieson revealed that the project, which was started by Wilro Lions President Sandy van Heerden, has been running for two years. “Our main goal is to extend this project beyond newborns to babies attending the clinic who are in need,” she explained. “This is a vital part of our mission, as we recognise the great need in the community and believe in giving back.”

Mandy also expressed the club’s willingness to expand the project to other clinics where there is a need. “We urge the community to bless us with an abundance of baby clothes, blankets, and nappies,” she said.

“Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of these precious little ones.”
