Ten officers from the Florida Police Station received a welcome Christmas surprise on December 19 when they were presented with their new ranks.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Sipho Dlamini, the promotion of the police officers is not only well deserved but will make a marked difference to the station’s ability to effectively serve the community.
“These officers have put in the time and the effort to work their way up into their new ranks,” he says.
“With a higher rank comes more responsibility and also more discretion to take action and make decisions. The promotion of these police officers to their new ranks will enable Florida Police to provide better support to junior members, who have limited decision-making powers.”
Nine of the officers were promoted from the rank of Sergeant to Warrant Officers, and one officer was promoted from Constable to Sergeant.
“We congratulate the members for their hard work and dedication and urge them to remain vigilant in their new roles as more senior police officers.”
