Honeydew SAPS celebrates recruits
Meet the latest officers starting their careers and stepping up to serve and protect the community.
The Honeydew CPF recently welcomed a new group of recruits at the Honeydew Police Station.
The recruits join the service following the national passing-out parades held late last year, where thousands of newly trained officers completed their Basic Police Development Learning Programme and were deployed at stations across the country.
At these parades, recruits formally joined the police and were prepared for frontline policing duties. Acting Police Minister Firoz Cachalia presided over one of the main ceremonies in Pretoria, which saw more than 3 500 new constables inducted to strengthen police presence nationwide.
CPF chairperson Jon Rosenberg spent some time speaking to the recruits about the role of the CPF and the importance of working together with the community. He also highlighted the contributions of Volunteer Patrollers and the Victim Support Team in making Honeydew safer and supporting victims of crime.
“We are pleased to welcome these recruits to our precinct and look forward to working with them to enhance community safety,” said the Honeydew CPF public relations officer, Michael Steyn.
“We wish them every success in their careers and trust that they will dedicate themselves to learning, gaining experience, and growing professionally as they serve and protect the Honeydew community,” he added.
The CPF encouraged the recruits to build strong relationships with residents and uphold high professional standards as they begin their policing careers.
