Foundation in need of donations

The Everyday Kindness Charity Foundations is taking any pre-loves items such as clothing, books, linen and blankets.

The Everyday Kindness Charity Foundation, run by Hoërskool Roodepoort’s former head boy Sanay Ramsammy, is in urgent need of donations and volunteers to continue assisting those in need.

As the foundation celebrated its one-year anniversary on Thursday, January 22, the team is gearing up to make an even greater impact in the Roodepoort community with projects starting in March.

Everyday Kindness was established to alleviate hunger and poverty and provide support wherever possible, no matter how big or small the act of kindness may be.

To achieve this, the foundation relies on the generosity of individuals and organisations.

According to Sanay, they are currently accepting donations of new or pre-loved items in good condition, including clothing, stationery, linen, blankets, toys, books, and magazines.

“Anything you feel is appropriate and can be used by someone who lacks basic necessities is deeply appreciated.

“We are also looking for volunteers for our projects starting in March, and if students need their community hours done or someone would just like to help, they can contact us,” said Sanay.

Everyday Kindness has partnered with several organisations in the area, including Wings of Inspiration, Fora, Roodepoort/ Krugersdorp SPCA and Mother of Peace Shelter, among others.

“We also welcome sponsorships and partnerships, whether from companies or people in the community who wish to contribute in any way to making Roodepoort and its community a better place.

“Donations make a significant and meaningful difference. What may be extra or unused in your cupboard or garage can become someone else’s essential.

“Your contribution can mean food on the table, school supplies, transport money, or basic necessities for someone facing hardship; this support can relieve stress immediately, not someday.

“When help comes from within the community, it builds trust, connection, and a culture of caring. Kindness inspires kindness, and together we can uplift and strengthen our community,” said Sanay.
