Vervet monkey spotted in Little Falls

The monkey's presence draws curious eyes as it passes through the area.

Residents of Lower Little Falls received an unexpected visitor yesterday, February 5, when a Vervet monkey was seen in a local garden.

Claire Fauchet from the Little Falls and Strubens Valley Residential Community (LIFCO) reminded everyone to stay cautious and act responsibly.

“The monkey is believed to be a male just passing through the area,” Claire explained. Residents are asked not to feed the monkey or leave any food outside easily accessible to the monkey, and dogs should be kept indoors if the monkey is seen nearby.

Claire also asked the community to help track the monkey.

“If you see it, safely take a photo and share its location with your street leader or on the LIFCO community chat,” she said.
