Members of the Honeydew police, together with the Honeydew CPF Sector 4 patrollers, recently visited Nova Pioneer Jackal Creek to host a school awareness talk focused on bullying prevention.
According to the CPF public relations officer, Michael Steyn, this initiative was aimed at educating learners in grades 4 to 7 about bullying and steps learners should take to combat bullying.
Officers addressed key issues surrounding bullying, including recognising different forms of bullying, understanding its impact, and encouraging learners to report incidents to trusted adults.
“By tackling these challenges at an early age, the programme sought to foster a safer and more respectful school environment,” said Michael.

Police representatives emphasised the importance of speaking up and seeking help, reminding learners that bullying can have lasting emotional and psychological effects if left unaddressed. The session was interactive, allowing learners to ask questions and share their experiences in a supportive setting.
The K9 Unit attended and conducted an exciting demonstration for the preschool learners, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all the learners.
“The demonstration not only entertained but also educated learners about the important role police dogs play in keeping communities safe,” he added.

Michael expressed the forum’s appreciation to all members, patrollers, teachers and staff members who contributed to the success of the initiative. The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to building stronger relationships between law enforcement and the community, while equipping young learners with the knowledge and confidence to stand against bullying.
