RiverWel bids farewell to long-serving members
The RiverWel Residents Association has honoured longtime committee members who officially stepped down after serving the neighbourhood for a total of 60 years.
The RiverWel Residents Association (RWRA) has recently bid a heartfelt farewell and extended its deepest gratitude to three dedicated committee members who have officially retired from their roles.
Collectively, Kevin Thomson, Neville Burnett, and Peter Redfern have served the RiverWel community collectively for an extraordinary 60 years. Their combined decades of commitment, experience, and tireless effort have played a pivotal role in shaping the association and strengthening the neighbourhood.
Over the years, they have been instrumental in driving key initiatives, from enhancing local security measures and overseeing community projects to maintaining greenbelt areas and fostering the strong sense of togetherness residents value today. Often working behind the scenes, their steady leadership and hands-on involvement have left a lasting imprint on the community.

The chairperson of RWRA, Newton Kemp, expressed sincere appreciation for their unwavering dedication and the legacy they leave behind. While stepping down from their formal committee roles, all three will remain valued and respected members of the RiverWel community.
“As the association marks the end of an era, it also looks to the future with optimism. New committee members are stepping forward to take up the mantle, with confidence high that they will continue to build on the solid foundation laid over the past six decades,” said Kemp.
