Honeydew clean-up campaign shows power of community action

Volunteers rolled up their sleeves and made a visible impact as the Honeydew community came together for a recent clean-up drive.

The Honeydew community came together for the Honeydew Clean-Up Campaign on 3 March, showcasing a powerful display of unity and service.

The initiative, led by the Soulbent Project under CEO Mashudu Makhado, focused on removing litter from streets and clearing debris from local streams. Volunteers worked throughout the day, collecting waste and restoring public spaces vital to the community’s well-being.

According to Mashudu, the campaign aimed to preserve the beauty of the local vegetation while bringing residents together to tackle pollution.

The effort not only improved the physical environment but also reinforced a shared sense of responsibility among residents. By addressing pollution and illegal dumping, participants demonstrated how collective action can drive meaningful change.

“We strongly believe that cleanliness is next to Godliness. A clean environment promotes good health, safety and pride among residents. When we take care of our surroundings, we are also taking care of ourselves and future generations,” said Mashudu.
