Little egg hunters take over Struben’s Valley Library

The event was a lovely way to celebrate Easter and brought joy to the children and families who attended.

Was one perhaps hidden behind Cat in the Hat? Or could Cinderella or Snow White’s seven dwarfs help find the oval-shaped chocolaty treats? Maybe Roald Dahl’s Matilda could point out a few.
Nevertheless, excited children aged between three and six flocked with eager anticipation to Strubens Valley Library, which hosted a fun Easter egg hunt on Tuesday, March 31.

The event gave the library a fun Easter vibe as the children’s section was transformed into a fun hunting area for the little ones to seek Easter eggs in various locations. The children ran around excitedly when the hunt began, shouting with delight when they found them. Some children discovered more eggs than others, which encouraged them to keep searching.

“I’m very happy to be here, and what I love more about the hunt is that I managed to find five Easter eggs,” said one of the children, Iminathi Mjiwu. Another child who was on the hunt, Keisha Ncube, shared that she enjoyed looking for the eggs and managed to find four of them.

Parents were also there to give support and encourage their children. Many children eagerly ran back to show and give their Easter eggs to their parents before going back to search for more. This gave both the parents and little ones the opportunity to experience the fun of Easter while spending time together.

To add to the day’s excitement, the librarians also provided juice, lollipops, and additional Easter eggs to the children after the hunt. Children who were unable to find Easter eggs during the hunt were also given some to ensure that nobody went home empty-handed.
