Elderly treated to game day
Horison Block Watch held a successful games morning for elderly residents.
Horison Block Watch held an informative and fun games morning for elderly residents at the NG Horison on Saturday April 25.
It was a morning filled with laughter, warm coffee, and tasty treats, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
According to organiser and community liaison officer for the organisation, Charlotte Grobler, the event was aimed at including the elderly in the community.

“They have served all of us for so many years,” she says.
“As a community we owe them a debt of gratitude for building and establishing our beautiful neighbourhood into what we have today.”
Of course, the block watch took every opportunity to educate the gathered elderly residents about the block watch, it’s function within the community, and the various options on offer should they find themselves in an emergency situation.

Horison Block Watch chairperson, Lucas Meyer welcomed everyone and explained the rules of the game of the day: Bingo.
While Meyer was responsible for pulling numbers out of the bag, block watch member Linda Havenga played the role of caller, while participants waited eagerly, hoping to get the winning numbers.
