Roodies dominate at provincial drummies competition

Laerskool Roodebeeck took top honours at the fourth regional dance drill , drummies, and majorette sport competition.

Laerskool Roodebeeck hosted yet another successful drum and majorette sport competition on Saturday, May 23, where school groups competed with the aim of making the Gauteng team.

This was the fourth annual regional competition held by the Federation of Dance Drill, Cheerleading and Majorette Sport Gauteng Province (FDDCMGP) in the run-up to the finals later this year.

Laerskool Roodebeeck once again dominated the competition with excellent discipline and well-rehearsed movements, stealing the show.

In the Dom Defilè item, both Roodies junior and senior teams took first place.

Roodies seniors secured a gold achievement in the Traditional Mace Defilè and Stage item, while both juniors and seniors took top positions in the Non-Prop activity.

In the Group Pom item, Roodies juniors and seniors once again dominated, both taking first place, while the seniors raked in the win in the Flag event and the Group Mace event.

Roodies clinched wins in the Sub Leaders, Squad, and Display events, thereby taking the overall win on the day.
