Reptile show excites Honeydew families at Zeiss market
The event gave children a live experience of creatures they would normally learn about in books.
Families who visited the Honeydew pop-up market at Garden on Zeiss on Sunday, May 30, were treated to a reptile show that turned out to be one of the day’s biggest attractions.
The show was presented by Kenneth Strydom from Chameleon Village and Reptile Conservation Park, who brought along a range of reptiles and small creatures for the public to see up close.

Children saw animals such as an African tree snake, Southern African python, tortoise, black spider, bullfrog, puff adder (ibululu), rock monitor lizard and a baby crocodile. For many children, the highlight of the day was when they could touch and feel some of the animals.
There was plenty of excitement as the children watched, asked questions and learned more about the animals, where they live and what they eat. Some of the grown-ups also had questions, which were answered before the show was over.

A live music show was on immediately after the reptile show, and families continued their day walking around the stalls, shopping, and enjoying the rest of the market.
