Organisation leads community clean-up initiative in Honeydew

The community is urged to help restore Honeydew to its former glory.

The non-profit organisation, Soulbent Project, geared up for another of its environmental conservation efforts by conducting a community clean-up campaign in Honeydew, aimed at improving public spaces and promoting responsible waste management.

On Wednesday, July 1, volunteers from the project collected litter and removed waste from public areas as part of an ongoing initiative to combat illegal dumping and encourage environmental stewardship within the community.

According to CEO Mashudu Makhado, the clean-up forms part of its broader mission to create cleaner, healthier, and safer neighbourhoods through community participation and environmental awareness.

“The organisation called on residents, businesses, community leaders, and other stakeholders to support sustainable cleanup programmes by working together to keep public spaces clean. It emphasised that maintaining a healthy environment requires collective responsibility, continuous education, and consistent action from all sectors of society,” he said.

Soulbent Project continues to promote recycling awareness and community development projects designed to encourage sustainable environmental practices.

“We call on residents, businesses, stakeholders, and leaders to join hands with us in supporting sustainable cleanup programs. A clean environment requires teamwork, awareness, and consistent action from everyone,” he added.

He reiterated that the organisation remains committed to empowering communities through initiatives that improve environmental conditions and inspire residents to take pride in their surroundings.
