Queen Butterfly holds bowls day

Residents and bowlers showed overwhelming support for the Queen Butterfly Foundation during their bowls day.

Queen Butterfly Foundation held the first of its annual bowling day fundraisers at the Discovery Bowling Club on June 27.

According to manager Julie Botha, the day was a resounding success with bowlers and community members showing up in numbers to show their support for the foundation and the important work it does.

“Every cent we raise goes directly toward the care of the disabled learners in our care,” she says.

The bowls day was packed with residents sporting butterfly wings in support of the foundation.

“Many of the visitors played bowls for the very first time, which made for an even more fun day,” says Julie, adding that the event was more about having fun than about winning the games.
