Nova Pioneer hosts successful sports day

For now, the winning teams are in celebration of their achievements and sharpening their skills for their next competitions.

Excitement and cheers filled the air at Nova Pioneer Ruimsig as the school hosted an interschool sports festival on Saturday and local primary schools attended.

Learners from The King’s School West Rand, The King’s School Discovery, Skye College, Mellow Oaks and Legends Academy showcased their skills and sportsmanship at the fun-filled day.

The match between Nova Pioneer and Skye College is tough.

The soccer matches were intense with each team trying to take a win home. The young soccer players brought smiles to their parent’s faces as they ran on the field trying to score goals, missing the ball a few times.On the netball courts, great teamwork and action filled the space as the girls enthusiastically passed the ball among their teammates. Learners, parents, coaches, and teachers cheered on their favourite teams.

The day encouraged physical activity, teamwork and healthy competition among learners. As the day came to a close, the teams were excited about the way they performed on the field and coaches had talks with them to discuss areas of improvement and what they could have done differently to secure wins.
