Trinity celebrates fathers in style
Set in a relaxed environment, the event encouraged families to slow down and enjoy quality time together.
In celebration of Father’s Day, the Trinityhouse Little Falls (THLF) Pre-Primary learners and their families enjoyed the annual Father’s Day picnic held on the school grounds.
According to Lauren Eckersley, a foundation phase teacher and organiser of the event, the picnic aimed to strengthen family bonds and create lasting memories.
“Our goal is to create a special opportunity for young children to bond with their fathers or father figures,” she said.
“It’s a great way for parents to meet one another as part of our school community.”

The event was well-received by both parents and learners. Children were excited to have their dads with them at school, and many fathers appreciated the opportunity to be part of their child’s school experience.
“The parents were very happy to spend a morning in the school environment,” Lauren added.
The day included games, laughter, and shared meals, and Lauren said that events like these are part of a broader effort to promote emotional development.

“At this age, children learn so much through experience and relationships. One of the key lessons we hope they take away is the value of family, love, and togetherness. Through the activities, they also practice sharing, expressing gratitude, and showing appreciation.”
The morning ended with smiling faces, full hearts, and a renewed reminder of the importance of presence and connection in a child’s life.
