St Catherine’s hosts a vibrant market in support of Cansa
The day was filled with lots of activities and stalls offering a variety of goods.
The school grounds of St Catherine’s Convent School turned into a lively market on October 18 when the school hosted a market to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer.
The event was well attended, with many parents and learners coming out in large numbers to support this important cause.

All proceeds from the market went directly to Cansa. The event offered a day of fun activities for children and families, including face painting, a go-kart derby, and various games that kept everyone entertained.

Vendors from the community also participated enthusiastically, setting up stalls and contributing to the lively atmosphere. The event aimed not only to raise funds but also to educate the community about breast cancer and the importance of early detection.

Elize Serrao, the co-ordinator of the event, explained that initiatives like this help teach children valuable lessons.
“Such events teach children compassion and the importance of wanting to make a difference in people’s lives,” she said.
