The Laerskool Florida learner placed 9th out of 23 in his division.
Young shooting prodigy Marius Beneke from Laerskool Florida has achieved exceptional results at the South African Schools Shooting Competition held at Castle de Wildt in Limpopo earlier in October.
Marius began his shooting journey in February and has demonstrated talent and perseverance. In this competition, he placed ninth overall out of 23 participants in the U12 division. More notably, he achieved a personal score of 779 out of 800.
In recognition of his extraordinary performance, Marius received the prestigious gold bar and the Master’s Cut recognition, honours awarded to only the top performers in the competition.
His journey in competitive shooting has been marked by numerous victories across various tournaments. Throughout the year, he has claimed wins at the Hoërskool Florida Interhouse, all five Gauteng North Schools Shooting Union (GANSU) Leagues, the Egoli Open, and the Northern Cape Postal League.
Additionally, he secured a commendable fourth place at the North Gauteng Open, further cementing his status as a rising star in the sport.
“We are incredibly proud of Marius’s achievements,” said the school’s marketing manager, Mellisa Kruger. “His dedication and hard work have truly paid off, and we look forward to seeing what he accomplishes next.”
