Roodepoort’s Class of 2025 looks forward to the future
Matriculants from Hoërskool Roodepoort share their plans for the future.
The matric Class of 2025 outdid themselves, obtaining 88%, which is the highest pass rate in history. The latest results are an increase of 0.7% over last year’s 87.3%.
The Johannesburg West District is once again the top-performing district in the country with an average of 96.20%, surpassing the national pass rate.
This outstanding result marks a significant milestone for the district, which has consistently demonstrated strong performance in previous years. In 2024, the district achieved a pass rate of 97% and in 2023, it achieved 92.5%.

As the Class of 2025 embarks on a new journey, many matriculants are eager to enter the workforce, while others plan to pursue higher education and start their own businesses.
The Roodepoort Record visited Hoërskool Roodepoort to celebrate this milestone with these achievers and to also find out their plans for the future.
Damon Ganchie expressed that he is extremely happy with his results and is planning to get a job immediately.
“They are more than what I expected.”

Reabetsoe Mophuthing said she is planning to study education and make some money.
Hulisani Tshikosi is planning to study Architecture at the University of Johannesburg.

Tamika Boardman and her mom, Suzette Louw, also expressed satisfaction with saying she has worked hard throughout the year.
