Seeing double? Six pairs of twins join Welties Primary for Gr 1

From morning greetings to lunchtime giggles, the siblings are proof that great things come in pairs.

The reopening of schools usually brings a lot of joy and excitement for schools as they welcome new learners into the school. This year, Weltevreden Park Primary School celebrated something special when schools reopened on Wednesday, January 14, as six sets of twins joined the Grade One class.

There was a lot of excitement among the little brothers and sisters as they walked to their classrooms to start their day.

The school’s deputy principal, Leanne Danker, shared that this is the first time in many years that they have gotten an opportunity to welcome this number of twins, especially in Grade One.

Even though the learners may look alike, the teachers understand that each one of them has a unique personality of their own and have prepared a welcoming space for that by providing activities that promote teamwork and individuality, which will allow each of the siblings to develop their individual talents.

Seeing the bond between each pair warmed up most of the school staff’s hearts, as some of the twins could be heard expressing their love for each other before they each made their way to their different allocated classrooms.

With double the enthusiasm and laughter in the classrooms, these siblings are showing that school life is brighter when everyone shares the joy of learning and friendship.
