Learners celebrate first day of school

It was an exciting day for the little ones as they stepped into a year of possibilities and discovery.

The reopening of schools holds beautiful memories for both parents and children, and this was no exception for the learners who went back to class at Junior Colleges Ridge View on Wednesday, January 14.

To celebrate the day and extend a warm welcome to the little ones, Junior Colleges Ridge View held a photo shoot for the learners to create memories of their back-to-school days.

Joy and smiles could be seen on learners’ faces as they arrived with their backpacks and settled into their classrooms.

Principal Pravesha Ramdin said the reopening of schools signals a fresh start for learners.

“A new academic year brings fresh beginnings, exciting opportunities and countless moments of growth for our learners,” she said.

Classrooms were a hive of activity as learners adjusted to routines, met new friends, and began exploring new lessons. Ramdin said these early days play an important role in building confidence and curiosity.

“From sharpening pencils to making new friends, each day is a chance to build confidence, curiosity and a love for learning,” she said.

She added that the return to school is about more than academics.

“Our classrooms are filled with energy as learners settle into routines, explore new ideas and take those important first steps on their educational journey,” Ramdin said.

“As we roll into the year ahead, we look forward to celebrating milestones big and small, nurturing young minds and partnering with families to create a happy, supportive learning environment,” the principal said, speaking about some of the school’s plans.

With the new academic year underway, the school is ready for a year of learning, growth, and shared success.
