Young swimmers shine at Crawford gala

From first-timers to confident swimmers, the pool was full of proud moments.

Crawford International Ruimsig was filled with team spirit and energy on Friday, January 23, as the primary school held their first inter-house swim gala for the year. The event saw parents, teachers, and learners coming together for a morning of sport and school spirit.

The learners competed in various categories where they showed their swimming skills in different styles, such as breaststroke, backstroke, and freestyle, while others focused on finishing their races and gaining experience in the pool.

Bateleur, Martial, and Wahlberg Houses were all well represented by their members as they cheered for the ones competing from the sidelines. The team spirit gave the swimmers confidence to finish their races, knowing that they had their teammates’ support behind them.

Finishing the race was a proud moment for many of the young swimmers. Their excitement could be seen as they jumped out of the pool with pride and excitement, with others quickly running to their parents for celebration of their milestones.

The gala is part of the school’s sports programme, which aims to promote learners’ confidence, physical activity, and teamwork from an early age. At the end of the gala, results were announced and learners received recognition for their effort, perseverance, discipline and participation.
