Colourful slippers bring smiles to Junior Colleges

The real success of the day lay in the spirit of caring that brought the school community together.

Learners at Junior Colleges Ridge View arrived at school in colourful slippers on Friday, May 29, to celebrate Slipper Day.

Slipper Day is an annual fundraising event held across South Africa in support of the Reach for A Dream Foundation, which helps fulfil the dreams of children battling life-threatening illnesses.

For as little as R20, participants receive a sticker allowing them to wear their favourite slippers to school or work while supporting the cause.

From the moment they arrived at school, learners eagerly showed off their favourite slippers to friends and classmates.

A colourful display of slippers of all sizes and styles could be seen across the school grounds, with some children wearing character slippers, cosy boots and fluffy footwear.

While the day was filled with fun and excitement, it also carried an important message as learners showed their support through participation in the initiative.

With cheerful smiles and a shared sense of purpose, the school demonstrated how small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference.
