Resident’s plea – check on heavy load traffic

Heavy load vehicles should be banned and the roads checked, says resident.

Ban the heavy load vehicles now!

I insist that local law enforcement also must check up on Doreen Road and Ruhamah Drive regularly – yes, there is signage disallowing 5-ton vehicles at Mimosa Street.

Crous Drive and Wilgerood Road also should be considered and checked on.
A truck should be considered a potential lethal weapon, as evident in the big William Nicol accident – yet most of these truck drivers drive like it’s a minibus!

If you take into consideration the number of heavy load vehicles losing their loads or overturning or jackknifing on the roads, this should be a priority.

Local law enforcement should clamp down on the drivers and the companies that employ them. Do these companies even check whether they are employing competent drivers?

Are those heavy load vehicles even declared roadworthy?
