Unfortunately the button under the vet fees article is not in operation so I could not write my comment there.
I would like to respond to the article on private veterinary fees.
To the so-called “breeder” that the article relates to – I would think, if you were a proper breeder, you would know the costs involved in such a procedure by now. There are also options of a medical aid for pets. If your income in any way relies on your dog being in a good condition, this would be a small price to pay monthly for her care. These policies give great cover as I can say I have had to rely on mine many a time.
Also, I would think he would know one cannot give a total amount up front as one does not know what will be encountered along the way (no different to humans going in for an operation). You do not know what complications may occur along the way.
You get what you pay for – in the case of most private veterinary clinics, great care for your animal!
He forgets to mention that his dog’s life was saved from what sounds like a critical condition. Now he moans that he has to pay for it – shame on you!
I would also like to add that we have some of the best veterinarians in the Helderkruin area and that they do not deserve the ranting of a disgruntled backyard “breeder”.
Leave our vets alone!
